Jaipur police apprehended two individuals on Saturday who are accused of supplying illegal weapons in the city for approximately three years. The arrested men, Dharmendra and Somitra Lodhi, both from Madhya Pradesh, reportedly operated under the guise of daily-wage labourers to conceal their activities.
During the arrest, authorities seized two pistols, three magazines, and five cartridges. Investigators revealed that the duo allegedly procured weapons from Madhya Pradesh and subsequently sold them in Jaipur, marking up prices by Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 per firearm. The accused admitted to supplying a significant number of illegal weapons in the city.
Police are currently interrogating the suspects to identify their suppliers and buyers, aiming to dismantle the full extent of the alleged arms network. Further arrests and recoveries are anticipated as the investigation continues.
