In Jaipur, the Municipal Corporation (JMC) has initiated action against parking contractors who allegedly continued to collect fees after their contracts expired. This Friday, the JMC directed police to register FIRs against employees and contractors at three parking sites within the Civil Lines zone.
At a Malviya Marg site, the contract expired on August 10, yet fees were reportedly still collected. In Ashok Nagar, police were asked to act regarding a parking site behind Mall 21, where the contract ended on March 19. Similarly, at a Church Road location near Sangam Tower, fees were allegedly gathered post-contract expiration on February 25.
The JMC emphasized that collecting parking fees after contract expiry is illegal and constitutes a loss of government revenue. Legal proceedings are now underway to hold the responsible parties accountable for these actions.
