- Another inmate attacked the terror accused with a sharp object.

In Faridabad, two jail officials, Deputy Superintendent Sachin Kaushik and Superintendent Harendra Kumar, were suspended on Friday, February 14, 2026. This action follows the death of terror accused Abdul Rahman, 20, inside the Neemka district prison. Rahman was killed early Monday, February 9, 2026, after another inmate attacked him with a sharp object.
Rahman, who was allegedly plotting an attack on the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, was assaulted by fellow inmate Arun Chaudhary. Jail staff provided first aid, but Rahman died before reaching the hospital. Sources indicate Rahman and Chaudhary had prior disagreements related to the alleged temple plot. Police have registered a murder case against Chaudhary and launched a judicial probe.
Rahman, from Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested on March 2, 2025, with two hand grenades. He had been living in Faridabad under a fake identity, working as an auto-rickshaw driver and at a small eatery. Security agencies flagged him as a key operative involved in reconnaissance of sensitive locations, including the Ram Temple. Digital devices seized allegedly contained attack plans and instructions.
Chaudhary, originally from Jammu, was transferred to Faridabad in October 2024 and faces eight prior cases. Officials are investigating the sourcing of grenades, reportedly through handlers linked to Pakistan's ISI. The planned strike was assessed to aim for mass casualties and panic, prompting a coordinated investigation into sleeper cells and support networks. Security arrangements within the jail were reviewed following the incident.
