- Her presence is deemed essential for ongoing trial proceedings.
A Delhi court has issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) enabling actor Jacqueline Fernandez to renew her employment visa. Fernandez, a Sri Lankan national, has resided in India since 2009, but her visa had expired. The court recognized her active engagement in the entertainment industry and the necessity of her presence for the ongoing Rs 200-crore money-laundering case.
Additional sessions judge Gagandeep Singh noted that the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) required court permission for the visa renewal. The court had previously released her passport for re-issuance by the Sri Lankan Consulate. The NOC permits Fernandez to proceed with her visa renewal application, to be considered by authorities according to relevant laws and rules.
