Bassam Mahmoud, owner of Hunter's Market, has been a victim of multiple break-ins, with thieves stealing cash and cigarettes and causing approximately $5,000 in damages. He now spends sleepless nights monitoring security cameras and is installing metal bars around his establishment.
Similarly, Christ Tchapda, manager of The Snack, reported a break-in where cigarettes were stolen after a window was smashed. He noted that experiencing such incidents repeatedly is challenging for long-standing businesses, impacting their operations and finances.
