Influencer Murdered After Pedophile Claims About Ex

An influencer, Sara Gilson, was tragically found dead from apparent gunshot wounds in her Owasso, Oklahoma home on Thursday night. Police responded to the scene around 11:15 p.m. after a child at the residence called 911. Officers discovered both Sara and her estranged husband, Jeremiah "Shawn" Duffey, deceased. A family member has alleged that Jeremiah broke into the home, fatally shot Sara, and then took his own life, though authorities have not officially classified the incident as a murder-suicide.

This incident follows Sara Gilson's recent TikTok post on July 11, where she participated in a trend alleging that Jeremiah was a pedophile. Court records indicate Sara had filed two protective orders against Jeremiah in 2021, which were dismissed. She successfully obtained an emergency protective order on June 10, 2026, claiming he possessed a gun and had threatened suicide. Additionally, another woman had sought a protective order for her daughter against Jeremiah, alleging inappropriate behavior and touching.

Sara Gilson leaves behind two children from a previous marriage. The child who called 911 was unharmed during the fatal incident. Authorities have stated there is no ongoing threat to the public.
