Two police constables in Indore are under investigation for allegedly orchestrating a daylight robbery of a cryptocurrency trader. The incident, which occurred under the Palasia police station limits, saw the victim lose approximately Rs 6 lakh. The trader was approached under the guise of purchasing cryptocurrency, subsequently abducted, and coerced into transferring 4,000 USDT, along with Rs 2 lakh in cash.
The investigation, prompted by a complaint from the victim, Abdul Fahad, has led to the detention of constables Manoj Malviya and Avinash. Sources indicate that one of the accused constables, Manoj Malviya, allegedly conspired with his childhood friend and the primary accused, Naved Lodhi. Malviya reportedly shared details about Fahad's cryptocurrency trading activities, which Naved then used to plan the robbery.
Naved Lodhi and another individual, Sahil, have been arrested. According to the victim's account, the robbery took place at an ATM where he was depositing cash. The accused then took him to an isolated spot, executed the digital currency transfer via his mobile phone, and stole the cash.
