An Indonesian man, identified as Purwadi Wahyudi, 40, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his mother-in-law using rat poison hidden in chicken satay. The incident occurred in the Boyolali area of Central Java on May 18. Wahyudi reportedly purchased the satay from a vendor, laced it with poison, and arranged for its delivery to the victim's home via a courier service.
The victim, identified as Aminah, died shortly after consuming the poisoned meal. Her daughter, Luriyanti Putri, discovered the body the following morning. Suspicion arose when family members recalled Aminah mentioning a delivery from an unknown sender. Police exhumed the body and an autopsy confirmed the presence of rat poison.
Investigators stated that Wahyudi admitted to the crime, allegedly motivated by resentment and a feeling that his mother-in-law never respected him. He reportedly used an account bearing his sister-in-law's name to place the order, aiming to mislead investigators. If convicted, Wahyudi faces severe penalties, including the death penalty or life imprisonment.
