A startling international kidney transplant racket, spanning multiple Indian states and reaching Cambodia, has been uncovered by Chandrapur Police. The investigation was triggered by a viral video from a marginal farmer detailing an escalating debt to an illegal moneylender after selling a kidney.
Authorities have arrested eight people so far, including agents and moneylenders, who allegedly lured impoverished individuals to sell their kidneys. Victims reportedly received only a fraction of the large sums charged for transplants, with some being taken to Cambodia for organ harvesting.
