Summary
- 34-year-old woman, her lover, and his friend convicted for murdering her husband
- Children's testimony on mother's affair proved crucial in the case
- Convicts sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs 1 lakh each

On November 8, 2025, a court in Agra, India, sentenced a 34-year-old woman, her lover, and his friend to life imprisonment for the murder of the woman's husband. The incident occurred in February 2019 when the victim, Ramveer Singh, went missing from his home. His body was later found in a village well, with the postmortem report revealing 12 injury marks and death due to coma as a result of anti-mortem injury.
The investigation revealed that the woman, Kusuma Devi, was having a two-year affair with a man named Sunil Kumar. Whenever Sunil visited their home, Kusuma would allegedly beat her children, aged 15, 13, and 8 at the time. The children's testimony before the magistrate on their mother's involvement in the extramarital affair proved crucial in the case.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on each of the convicts. The other two accused, Sunil Kumar and Dharmveer Singh, were auto drivers. The trio had attempted to mislead the court by trying to project the victim's proximity to local goons as the reason for the killing, but the children's statements in favor of their father ultimately nailed the trio.
