Summary
- Parents of IIT-B student Sahil Wakode were moved from Mumbai
- Family claims they were compelled to travel in a private car
- Parents intended to start a hunger strike at the institute

The parents of IIT-B student Sahil Wakode reported being moved from Mumbai late Tuesday night in a private vehicle. The family asserted they had clearly communicated their intention to remain in the city and commence a hunger strike outside the Powai institute. Despite their protests, they claim they were transported to the Karanja Lad area of Washim district, reaching Vidarbha by Wednesday morning.
Accompanied by their advocate, the parents had spoken to the media earlier on Tuesday. They stated that men not in uniform asked them to shift to another car in Powai, with a police vehicle reportedly following. The family claimed they repeatedly inquired about their destination, receiving vague assurances. They also mentioned that police vehicles were initially following the private car but disappeared after entering the Samruddhi Expressway.
Initially, the father expressed determination to return to Mumbai and begin the hunger strike, stating, "I want justice for my son." However, by Wednesday evening, the family announced they would not be returning to Mumbai. They claimed to have exited the private car at Karanja Lad, using a request to stop for a washroom break.
