Idols Smashed in Shocking Gauri Lakkha Temple Attack

On the night of Saturday, October 25th, 2025, miscreants entered a Lord Shiva temple in Gauri Lakkha village of Chaubepur, Kanpur and vandalized the idols of deities, including the sacred Shivling. When the villagers arrived for their regular Sunday morning worship on October 26th, they were dismayed to find the idols broken.
Former village head Vinod Shukla stated that some local miscreants may have been responsible for the vandalism, and the matter was promptly reported to the police. Assistant Commissioner of Police Amarnath Yadav of the Bilhaur division confirmed that an investigation is underway, and a youth has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The desecration of the revered Shiva temple has deeply upset the Gauri Lakkha community, who are demanding swift action and justice from the authorities. The police have assured the villagers that they will leave no stone unturned to identify and punish the perpetrators of this heinous act.
