A 30-year-old woman reportedly died by suicide on March 11 in Esamiya Bazar, Hyderabad, after a dispute with her husband over her alcohol consumption. The incident took place at her rented residence when she allegedly locked herself in a room and hanged herself. Her father informed the police that his daughter, married for 10 years, had recently become addicted to alcohol, which caused frequent disagreements with her husband.
According to the father's complaint, his son-in-law had called him, reporting that his daughter was unresponsive after locking herself in. He had apparently scolded her for drinking and then left with their two children for breakfast. Upon their return, they discovered the woman had hanged herself using a saree. Her husband and relatives managed to open the door, but she was declared dead by ambulance staff. The father has stated he does not suspect foul play.
