Hyderabad Youth Arrested for Dangerous Stunts

In Hyderabad, a 19-year-old, Rehan, was detained by Raidurgam Police for participating in illegal drag racing and dangerous car stunts. The incident occurred late at night near Knowledge City, an area increasingly known for such activities. Police attempted to stop Rehan's Honda City, but the vehicle allegedly swerved, injuring Constable Ramesh on the hand.

Authorities seized Rehan's car and mobile phone as part of the ongoing investigation. Several other individuals involved in the racing are believed to have fled. Investigators are looking into social media and informal racing networks as potential reasons for the rise in these gatherings within the IT corridor.

Further investigation includes reviewing CCTV footage to identify other participants. Police are considering charges under the Motor Vehicles Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for rash driving and endangering public safety. Separately, Hyderabad Traffic Police recently charged 294 motorists for drunk driving during weekend checks.
