In a significant move to preempt criminal activity, Hyderabad Police have legally bound over 86 individuals belonging to 10 rival gangs. This preventive measure, enacted under Section 126 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, empowers the authorities to intervene before potential breaches of public tranquility occur. The Police Commissioner, acting as Additional District Magistrate, presided over a special court to address the issue.
The proceedings focused on notorious rowdy-sheeters and members of rival groups with a history of violence, including murder and attempted murder. Detailed reports of retaliatory clashes were reviewed, underscoring the need for intervention. As a result, all 86 individuals were ordered to execute security bonds, legally pledging one year of peace and good behaviour.
This action serves as a strict warning. Should any gangster violate the terms by breaching the peace within the year, their security bond will be forfeited, and separate strict legal action will follow. The initiative by the Hyderabad Police aims to bolster public safety and curb organized criminal endeavors.
