In a shocking incident on Monday afternoon, a seven-year-old girl lost her life after being thrown from the second-floor balcony of her home in Malkajgiri, Hyderabad. The child, a first-grade student, landed on the adjacent building's first floor, sustaining critical head injuries. Doctors at a local hospital pronounced her dead upon arrival.
Preliminary investigations by the Malkajgiri police suggest the tragedy was a result of severe marital discord between the victim's parents. According to police, the mother expressed experiencing considerable emotional distress and sleep deprivation due to frequent arguments with her husband. The husband has corroborated these marital issues during interrogation.
The altercation that preceded the incident reportedly began when the mother requested her mobile phone back from the child. The mother attended the child's funeral rites before being taken into custody and booked under section 103 of the BNS for murder.
