Last month, a devastating incident unfolded in Hyderabad, India, where a 27-year-old woman named Challari Sailakshmi allegedly murdered her two-year-old twins before taking her own life. According to the police, Sailakshmi used a pillow to smother her children, Chetan Karthikeya and Lasyata Valli, around 3:30 AM on October 13th. She then jumped from the fourth-floor apartment, with CCTV footage capturing her fall at 3:37 AM.
Sailakshmi's husband, Anil Kumar, was at work when the tragedy occurred. The couple had been facing frequent disagreements over their son Chetan's speech impairment, and the family had been taking him to speech therapy sessions. Police suspect that the stress from these marital disputes pushed Sailakshmi to the brink, leading her to commit this horrific act.
Sailakshmi's parents have since filed a police complaint against Anil Kumar, and he has been taken into custody. The twins' bodies were shifted to a hospital for autopsy, and the investigation into this tragic case is ongoing.
