On October 8, 2025, a tragic domestic violence case unfolded in Walnut Creek, California. Howard Wang, a 43-year-old man, is accused of murdering his wife, Linlin Guo, and his mother-in-law, Beimin Cheng, inside the family's multimillion-dollar compound.
According to the Contra Costa District Attorney's Office, Wang allegedly told police that an intruder had killed the two women, but he was later charged with two counts of murder with special circumstances enhancements, as well as dissuading a witness and making criminal threats.
Just over a week after Wang's arrest, police also apprehended his alleged mistress, 45-year-old Yan Wang. The district attorney's office stated that Yan allegedly aided Howard Wang by destroying evidence and entering his home with the intent to commit larceny after the murders, in an effort to help him avoid arrest and punishment.
The couple's 8-year-old twin daughters were home at the time of the tragic incident. "This case serves as a sobering reminder of domestic violence's far-reaching consequences," said Contra Costa District Attorney Diana Becton. "Our office will pursue justice with the seriousness and urgency this tragedy demands."
