- Operation began with a single citizen complaint leading to discovery of brothels.

A coordinated statewide effort, "Operation Reclaim and Rebuild," has successfully dismantled a significant human trafficking network operating out of residential brothels across California. This extensive operation, involving dozens of agencies, resulted in hundreds of arrests and the rescue of nearly 20 children. The initiative was sparked by a single citizen complaint regarding a house in Walnut, which led to months of surveillance and the uncovering of multiple brothels.
Authorities confirmed that among the approximately 600 individuals arrested were suspected traffickers and numerous sex buyers. Victims were rescued from as far away as Illinois, Oklahoma, and Missouri, as well as from local California communities. Officials described the crisis as "modern slavery" and highlighted Los Angeles County as a national epicenter for human sex trafficking.
