5 May
Summary
- Organized crime groups from major cities target Hull due to perceived low competition.
- Drug offenses in the region surged by 45% recently, with crack cocaine and heroin increasing.
- Three men and two women face drug supply charges after recent police raids.

Organized crime groups from London, Birmingham, and Manchester are reportedly targeting Hull, with police leadership describing the city as perceived 'safe' and offering less competition. This influx contributes to a concerning rise in drug-related crime.
Recent data indicates a significant 45% increase in drug offenses within the Humberside Police area. Specifically, crack cocaine and heroin dealing have seen a notable uptick, causing concern among residents who observe increased drug use and associated degradation.
In response, Humberside Police executed five coordinated raids on 23 April, targeting an organized crime gang. Following these operations, three men and two women were charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. They appeared in court on 25 April and are remanded in custody.
Despite the rise in drug offenses, overall crime in the region fell by 3.7% between September 2024 and September 2025. Police are actively working to dismantle drug operations and encourage public cooperation in reporting suspicious activities.
