A Hucknall man has been sentenced to six years in prison for launching a series of arson attacks that destroyed six cars and damaged public infrastructure. Scott Knight, 38, admitted to charges of arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered, along with one count of arson.
The fires, which also impacted Christmas decorations and essential electricity cabling, occurred on January 4. Nottinghamshire Police officers were initially dispatched to Poppy Close following an abandoned call that suggested a kidnapping and stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers observed smoke plumes and discovered the multiple vehicles ablaze. Knight was subsequently arrested and has now been ordered to serve his sentence and will also be subject to three years on licence following his release.
