Perry Green, 46, is now facing two federal felony charges following an attempted carjacking and stabbing incident in May. Court records indicate he was indicted on September 2 for kidnapping and attempted carjacking. Green has been in custody since his arrest two days after the May 11 attack.
Green is accused of attacking Baleigh Burmaster, a veterinary technician, inside a Texas Medical Center garage. He allegedly forced his way into her car, demanding keys and credit cards while stabbing her multiple times. Burmaster managed to escape her captor after he bound her hands with zip ties.
Federal prosecutors are handling the kidnapping charge, which carries a potential life sentence. He was ordered to remain in custody pending his trial, which is set for November, though initial dates are often rescheduled. Green was appointed a defense attorney on Tuesday.
