A deeply tragic event has been reported at a southwest Houston hotel, identified as the Marriott Residence Inn. Authorities confirmed that a 40-year-old woman died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after allegedly killing her two young children, a 6-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy, who also sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
First responders were called to the hotel on Kirby Drive near Old Spanish Trail on Friday. Hotel staff had become concerned after a guest had not been heard from since Wednesday. Upon entering the room, they made the grim discovery. Police are preliminarily classifying the incident as a murder-suicide, suggesting that mental health issues may have been a factor.
