Summary

  • Body of Pramila Devi (45), wife of homeopathic doctor Dwarika Prasad, found in Nalanda
  • Family suspects foul play, possibly related to robbery or rape
  • Postmortem report awaited to determine exact cause of death

On October 16, 2025, the body of Pramila Devi, the 45-year-old wife of homeopathic doctor Dwarika Prasad, was found in Nalanda district. Pramila's family suspects foul play, possibly related to a robbery or rape, as she was alone at her in-laws' home in Porajit village when the incident occurred.

Pramila's husband Dwarika and other family members were in Ranipur locality of Fatuha in Patna district at the time. Pramila's son, Sujit Kumar, said she had come home to prepare for the upcoming Diwali and Chhath festivals. On Sunday morning, when neighbors found the door closed for an unusually long time, they investigated and were shocked to discover Pramila's body lying on the bed with a deep mark on her neck and signs of assault on her face and forehead.

The police have launched an investigation and sent the body for an autopsy. The Nalanda Sadar SDPO-II, Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, stated that the cause of death will only be known after the postmortem report is received. He added that prima facie, it appears Pramila may have died due to poisoning, as there were no visible injury marks on her body, and no evidence of robbery or rape has been found so far.
