A 56-year-old home guard in Krishna Nagar has confessed to strangling his wife and 32-year-old daughter. Ravindra Shankar Sahu told police he committed the murders due to persistent domestic arguments and significant mental stress. The disputes reportedly centered on his daughter Pooja's personal life and accusations leveled against him and Pooja by his wife.
Sahu detailed a disturbing plan, stating he administered sleeping pills in tea to his wife and daughter on Friday night. Once they were deeply asleep, he proceeded to strangle them sequentially using a mobile phone charging cable. He later reported the crime himself to the police station. Two younger daughters and a granddaughter were spared as they were secured in a locked room.
Neighbors corroborated that the couple frequently quarreled. An earlier incident in August 2025 involved the wife leaving home with jewelry, prompting a missing-person report, but she returned days later. The accused expressed remorse during questioning, seeking forgiveness for his actions.
