A police dog named Mac has received a special award for his life-saving actions in Perthshire. The Cocker Spaniel and his handler, PC Andy Inglis, found a man who had been missing for 17 days. Mac's detection skills led rescuers to the man, who was discovered alive but severely weak, hidden under a fallen tree and tarpaulin.
During a five-day search covering 30km, Mac alerted his handler by running down a steep embankment. The man, who had not eaten or drunk for days, was subsequently rescued. This incredible rescue earned Mac and PC Inglis the NPCC Police Dog Action of the Year award at Crufts, highlighting their exceptional teamwork and dedication.
