In Meerut's Kapsaad village, a 50-year-old woman tragically died on Thursday after attempting to shield her daughter from abductors. The victim, Sunita Devi, was walking with her 20-year-old daughter when assailants intercepted them near a canal bridge.
When Sunita Devi bravely intervened to protect her daughter from being forcibly taken, the attackers allegedly assaulted her with a sharp-edged weapon. She sustained critical head injuries and later passed away during treatment at a private hospital.
Authorities have registered a case of murder and abduction. Five police teams have been assembled to locate the abducted woman and arrest the perpetrators, including the primary accused, Paras Rajput, who is currently absconding.
