In Chandauri village, Giridih district, a distressing incident unfolded where a 65-year-old community health worker, Malti Devi, was tied to an electric pole for two hours. This act of restraint stemmed from a domestic dispute involving her 41-year-old son, Pintu Ravidas.
Pintu, married since 2011 and father to four children, reportedly brought another woman to his family home on Monday. His wife, Munni Devi, opposed this, leading to a confrontation where she alleged Pintu subjected her to torture. Munni then informed her parents, who arrived at the village.
Unable to locate Pintu, Munni's relatives allegedly targeted Malti Devi, tying her to a pole and demanding her son's immediate appearance. Malti reported being assaulted during the two hours she was bound, although Munni's relatives denied these claims. A police team from Tisri police station arrived at the scene, dispersed the crowd, rescued Malti, and detained Pintu and the woman accompanying him for further investigation.
