In Hazaribag, police apprehended an 18-year-old suspect on Sunday in connection with the murder of his friend. The accused allegedly shot the victim following a dispute and subsequently dumped the body into the Damodar river.
The victim, identified as an 18-year-old resident of Kole village, had been reported missing on Saturday, August 29th, after his family failed to locate him. An investigation was launched by the Keredari police station, leading to the suspect's detention.
During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted to fatally shooting his friend after an argument. He also disclosed the location where the body was submerged in the river. Search operations have recovered the victim's mobile phone, clothes, and slippers.
As of Sunday, August 30th, the victim's body has not been found, and the search efforts are continuing. Authorities also discovered an unidentified body approximately 3 kilometers downstream and have sent it for a post-mortem examination. Further investigations are underway regarding both incidents.
