Police in Hardoi have apprehended a villager, Ram Niwas, in connection with the murder of 45-year-old Sridevi in Amirta village. The victim was found with severe injuries in a wheat field. Investigations revealed that Sridevi had discovered Ram Niwas's illicit relationship with Lovely, the sister of her sister-in-law.
Sridevi had reportedly threatened to expose the affair to the villagers and her family. On the day of the incident, an argument ensued when Ram Niwas encountered Sridevi planting onions. In a fit of rage, he allegedly attacked her with a spade, inflicting fatal blows before concealing her body.
Ram Niwas confessed to the crime during interrogation. He was taken into custody, and the murder weapon, a spade, was recovered. The accused has since been sent to judicial custody, bringing a swift resolution to the case.
