Happy Valley Drug Bust: Four Charged After Shots Fired

A swift police response to reports of gunfire in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Monday night led to a shelter-in-place order for residents near Mesher and Lethbridge Streets. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, assisted by Labrador District Police Dog Services, apprehended six individuals following a search. Four people have since been charged under the Criminal Code, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and the Cannabis Act. A 45-year-old man faces charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and selling cannabis. All four are also charged with failing to comply with a release order. The RCMP seized a firearm, cocaine, significant amounts of cannabis, drug paraphernalia, and items indicative of drug trafficking. The shelter-in-place order was lifted approximately one hour after its enactment. The investigation is ongoing, with further firearms-related charges anticipated.
