A suspect wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in Hall County, Georgia, was arrested this past Thursday in Augusta. Investigators determined Thurmond was staying at the Studio 6 Motel. Members of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office Gang Unit and Crime Suppression Team, alongside the FBI, located the suspect. The Sheriff's Office SWAT Team executed a search warrant at the motel and successfully took Thurmond into custody.
Thurmond is wanted on murder warrants stemming from a fatal shooting of a woman at a convenience store in Gainesville, Georgia, on July 16. He was interviewed following his arrest and booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center on the outstanding warrants.
Authorities have stated that Thurmond will be transferred to Hall County at a later date to face the charges. The investigation into the homicide is reportedly ongoing, with no further information released at this time.
