FBI: No Ransom Paid in Guthrie Mom's Case

Six months have passed since the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie. This week, Savannah shared a video on Instagram, seemingly addressing those responsible for her mother's abduction. She urged them to "do the right thing" and come forward, adding, "We have done our part."

This statement led to speculation that a ransom had been paid. However, an FBI source clarified to TMZ that while they were aware of the video beforehand, no funds were transmitted to the kidnappers. The FBI confirmed their ongoing work with the Guthrie family and stated that a Bitcoin address associated with the ransom notes remained largely untouched, apart from a small amount sent by authorities.

Investigators believe Savannah Guthrie's message likely referred to the substantial $1 million reward posted for any information leading to her mother's recovery. This serves as an incentive for individuals to come forward, especially as no progress has been made in locating Nancy or identifying her abductor. Despite the lack of breakthroughs, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos expressed optimism, citing extensive DNA and video evidence being processed.
