Police Return to Outback Property in Gus Lamont Search
4 Mar
Summary
- Police will return to a remote Outback property in ongoing search.
- Two relatives of the missing boy are not cooperating with police.
- Search is the most extensive in South Australian history.

South Australian police are intensifying their search for four-year-old Gus Lamont, with officers set to revisit a remote Outback property. Police Commissioner Grant Stevens described the investigation as a top priority, noting that the search has been the most extensive in the state's history. Despite these comprehensive efforts, no sign of Gus has been discovered since his disappearance on September 27 from his grandparents' Oak Park Station near Yunta.
Compounding the ongoing investigation, Commissioner Stevens revealed that two of Gus's relatives are not cooperating with police inquiries. This comes as detectives previously confirmed Gus's parents have been completely ruled out as suspects and are fully cooperating with the task force. The parents, Josh Lamont and Jessica Murray, issued a heartfelt public plea in February, expressing their shattered lives and desperation for answers, thanking the numerous volunteers and services involved in the search.
