30 Oct
Summary
- Women were chased by a man and woman in a Scorpio after dark.
- Harassers allegedly offered money and asked invasive questions.
- The women escaped into a PG accommodation for safety.
Two women in Gurugram recounted a harrowing experience that began Tuesday night after they stepped out for a walk. While returning to their paying guest accommodation around 10:10 pm, a Mahindra Scorpio occupied by a man and a woman stopped them. The occupants initially asked for directions, but the interaction quickly turned unsettling as the man asked personal questions and made suggestive remarks.
The situation intensified when the man became aggressive after being called 'Uncle,' and the woman feigned illness to keep the women near their vehicle. Despite their fear and the lack of streetlights, the women attempted to de-escalate by suggesting a nearby food stall. However, the harasser's behavior grew more threatening, prompting the women to return money that had been forcibly given to them.
Following this, the women fled, only for the Scorpio to reappear and pursue them again. They ultimately sought refuge in a paying guest accommodation, where the Scorpio remained parked outside for a significant period. The incident prompted a response from Gurugram Police, who requested contact information to initiate action.
