- Traffic police towed 950 illegally parked vehicles since February 16.
- Special checkpoints and strict action planned for Holi weekend.

Ahead of the Holi festival, Gurugram's key markets are once again grappling with severe parking issues and traffic congestion. Residents reported cars lining up outside markets in sectors such as 14, 46, 49, and 56, along with Galleria Market, impeding traffic flow.
Traffic officials have intensified their campaign against illegal parking, deploying additional vans and towing around 950 vehicles since February 16. Hotspots for parking complaints include market areas in sectors 29, 44, and 51, as well as roads near Civil Hospital and on Golf Course road.
Residents highlighted issues like double parking, broken roads, and limited designated parking, leading to traffic snarls and safety concerns, especially after dark. The traffic police have increased patrols and held a review meeting to address these problems.
For the Holi weekend, special checkpoints will be set up at intersections, malls, and sensitive locations. Strict action is promised against illegal parking, drunk driving, overspeeding, and other traffic violations. Between February 16 and 22, over 11,000 commuters were challaned for various offenses.
