In Gurugram, four police personnel, including an assistant sub-inspector, faced suspension following a collision on New Year's Eve. The incident occurred when the ASI allegedly drove his personal car in an inebriated state, crashing into a pilot vehicle engaged in VIP security duty.
The pilot vehicle, which was escorting the convoy of local MLA Mukesh Sharma, had its driver sustain injuries. The ASI reportedly made a high-speed U-turn before colliding with the pilot's SUV. His car, found without number plates, was subsequently seized by authorities.
A case has been registered against the ASI for drunk driving and reckless endangerment. A departmental inquiry has also been initiated against all suspended officers to ascertain their involvement and ensure accountability.
