In Gurgaon, a 21-year-old woman named Shalu was allegedly murdered by her husband, Hemant, on July 26-27, 2026. Hemant initially reported to the hospital that his wife had died from a sudden severe stomach pain.
However, hospital staff noticed injuries around Shalu's neck, leading to a police inquiry. Shalu's father reported that her marriage to Hemant, a laborer, occurred in 2025. He received a call from Hemant around 12:30 AM on July 27th, stating Shalu was unwell.
Following an investigation and questioning, Hemant was arrested on July 27, 2026. He confessed to strangling his wife with a scarf due to his suspicions about her character. The alleged murder weapon has been recovered by the police.
