A man identified as Arun Sharma was arrested in Gurgaon on Friday, March 21, 2026, for allegedly killing his wife over a dowry dispute. Police reported that the woman was found dead on March 18, 2026, after Sharma allegedly administered a lethal injection.
The victim's brother filed a complaint, detailing continuous dowry harassment and physical abuse since the couple's marriage in November 2025. Sharma, a radiology technician with alleged drug addiction, confessed to giving his wife an injection on the morning of her death.
The couple had been staying at the victim's brother's residence since March 4, 2026. An altercation occurred on the night of March 17, 2026, following which Sharma allegedly took his wife to a room on the pretext of talking, only for her to be found unconscious.
Following post-mortem examination and evidence collection, a case was registered for dowry death. The accused, originally from Uttar Pradesh and residing in Delhi, was apprehended at the Gurgaon railway station and remanded to three days of police custody.
