A devastating hit-and-run incident in Gurgaon claimed the life of a 45-year-old labourer, identified as Reju Molla from West Bengal's South Dinajpur district. The accident occurred near a liquor shop in Sector 66 late on Thursday night as Molla was returning home from work.
According to preliminary reports, Molla was struck from behind by a speeding vehicle that continued to drag him for approximately 20 meters before the driver fled. The severity of the injuries and road marks indicated the vehicle did not stop immediately after the collision. A passer-by alerted a night patrol team, which arranged for an ambulance.
The victim was rushed to a government hospital where he was declared dead during treatment. Police have registered an FIR under relevant sections of the BNS for rash and negligent driving, and causing death by negligence. Multiple teams have been formed to trace the vehicle and apprehend the unknown driver.
