Gujarat Police Launches Cyber Safety Drive for Women & Kids

Gujarat Police initiated 'Operation Surakshit Cyberspace' on July 1, with the campaign set to conclude on July 28. In its first two weeks, the operation successfully organized 5,289 awareness programs. These sessions were designed to ensure the safety of women and children on online platforms.

The initiative involved a multi-faceted approach, including awareness programs tailored for parents and college students, as well as training sessions for educators. Additionally, 109 cyber rallies were conducted in the initial week. The second week shifted focus towards practical cybercrime prevention and overall online safety.

Specific programs addressed the safe use of digital platforms, prevention of digital frauds, and combating cyberstalking. The campaign also raised awareness about emerging threats like deepfake media and sextortion. To further protect younger demographics, 512 Gaming Safety programs and 466 Online Grooming Prevention programs were conducted.

Additional Director General (CID Crime & Women Cell) Ajay Chaudhary emphasized that ensuring online safety for women and children is a paramount concern in the digital age. Operation Surakshit Cyberspace aims to create a safer digital environment by educating the public about prevalent cyber threats.
