Gujarat Father Kills Daughter, Hides Body in Fridge

In Gujarat's Amreli district, a 40-year-old construction supervisor, Kishore Dhanak, died by suicide after allegedly killing his five-year-old daughter, Himanshi. The tragic incident unfolded when his wife returned home and found Dhanak hanging and their daughter's body inside a refrigerator.

Investigators discovered the room decorated with balloons and candles, and a note reading "Happy Birthday Himanshi" placed on the refrigerator, despite it not being her birthday. Police indicated Dhanak was struggling with significant financial issues, having invested a personal loan into construction work without receiving expected payments of Rs 7.25 lakh.

Notes left by Dhanak reportedly explained his actions stemmed from an inability to manage his debts and a desire to prevent his daughter from suffering. The scene suggested a last, elaborate birthday setup, with the child dressed in white and placed on cushions inside the refrigerator, adorned with 'tulsi' leaves. A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for murder, with further investigations ongoing.
