A 61-year-old man has admitted to the murder of his former partner in Cheshire. Gavin Shaw pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to the killing of 55-year-old Michele Kennedy.
Kennedy was discovered with stab wounds outside a residence in Woolston, Warrington, on October 13 of last year. She was transported to Aintree Hospital by air ambulance but succumbed to her injuries five days later. Shaw was apprehended at the scene and subsequently charged with murder.
Shaw, who resides on Manchester Road in Warrington, has been remanded in custody. His sentencing is scheduled to take place at Liverpool Crown Court on April 2. Detective Inspector Eleanor Atkinson of Cheshire Constabulary described the incident as exceptionally traumatic for all involved, particularly Michele's family and the emergency responders.
In a heartfelt tribute, Michele's family remembered her as a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and nana. They described her as a vibrant, one-of-a-kind individual who left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her passing has created a significant void within their family and among her friends and colleagues.
