A bachelor party in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, took a tragic turn on April 4th, leading to the arrest of groom Nolan Engel, 22. Deputies responded to a call at a residence off Rockhill Circle around 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 4th.
Upon arrival, they discovered 21-year-old Braden Uhlmann suffering from a gunshot wound. Uhlmann was rushed to a nearby hospital but tragically passed away due to his injuries. Authorities determined Engel had been present at the residence and was the individual who discharged the firearm.
Engel informed officers that he and three friends heard knocking and saw a shadow outside their cabin. In response, he fired a 9mm handgun. When he and a friend investigated, they found Uhlmann lying on the porch with a chest wound. Engel made spontaneous statements to officers at the scene admitting he was the shooter.
He was booked into the McCurtain County Jail on a charge of second-degree murder. Engel has since been released from custody after posting a $250,000 bond.
