Grimsby is facing a serious public health crisis following a spate of suspected drug overdoses. As of Friday, February 14, 2026, a fourth individual has tragically died, with numerous others falling ill due to suspected overdoses.
Humberside Police reported the latest death on Friday evening, following a weekend where eight additional reports of people becoming unwell were received. These cases are believed to be linked to the same substance.
In response to the escalating situation, nine individuals have been charged with drug-related offenses. Furthermore, three men aged 32, 33, and 38 were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of supplying class A drugs.
During the search of a property on Peaksfield Avenue, officers seized approximately £2,000 in cash, mobile devices, a suspected firearm, and an estimated £1,000 worth of cannabis. These three men remain in police custody.
The investigation is also considering a possible connection to a death that occurred in January. Since January 24, 2026, four deaths and multiple hospitalizations have been linked to suspected overdoses in the Grimsby area.
Police are actively working to understand how the drugs entered circulation and to determine if all reported incidents are interconnected. The investigation is ongoing.
