Ex-Jetstar Pilot Denied Bail in Murder Case

A former Jetstar pilot, Greg Lynn, has been refused bail by the Supreme Court in Melbourne as he awaits a retrial for the alleged murder of Carol Clay. The court determined that Lynn had not presented sufficient exceptional circumstances to warrant his release pending trial.

Lynn stands accused of murdering Carol Clay, who disappeared in March 2020 alongside her friend Russell Hill. The prosecution alleges Ms. Clay was fatally shot with a bullet from Lynn's firearm. Lynn continues to assert his innocence, stating the incident was accidental.

During the bail hearing, Lynn's defense team argued that the prosecution's case had significant weaknesses. They also contended that any potential risk posed by Lynn could be managed through stringent bail conditions. His son had offered his life savings as a guarantor for his father's bail.
