Authorities confirm no instances of children being kidnapped for ransom or revenge have been encountered by the unit.
Officials emphasize that while some cases appear to be voluntary departures, investigations can uncover serious issues like sexual abuse and exploitation. Therefore, every missing child is treated as a child in need of protection. The victim assistance unit is calling for a state-funded Missing Children Recovery and Reunification Fund to assist with immediate expenses related to tracing and returning children, relieving financial burdens from families.
