Tourist Duped in Goa Over Fake Vacation Package

A tourist from Rohtak, Haryana, was allegedly swindled out of Rs 88,000 in Candolim, Goa, by individuals claiming to represent OsDia De Festa Vacations Pvt Ltd. The incident occurred on December 1, 2024, when five persons approached the victim at Hotel Whispering Palms beach resort.
They enticed him with a 10-year holiday package, promising 42 days of free accommodation at three-star and four-star resorts globally. The victim paid Rs 88,000 via credit card for this package. However, the promised benefits were never materialized, and the company allegedly refused to refund the money.
Calangute police have identified the accused as Zikriya Shaikh, Abdul Rahim Mahamad Yusuf Shaikh, Haider, Ankita, and Ashish Singh Rajput. Notices have been issued to these individuals, requiring their appearance for an inquiry. The investigation into the fraudulent scheme is ongoing.
