28 Jul
Summary
- Judicial custody for Giribala and Samarth Singh extended until August 11.
- CBI requires further witness questioning for the ongoing investigation.
- Twisha Sharma was found dead on May 12 under disputed circumstances.

A Bhopal court has extended the judicial custody of former district judge Giribala Singh and her son Samarth Singh until August 11. This decision comes as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed the court that additional witness questioning is required.
The accused pair will remain in jail until the new hearing date. This follows a previous extension on July 14, which pushed their custody until July 28.
Twisha Sharma was found dead on May 12 in the Katara Hills area of Bhopal. Her death is surrounded by controversy, with her in-laws suggesting suicide and her maternal family alleging foul play.
Earlier this month, an AIIMS medical board submitted its final forensic opinion in a sealed cover to the CBI. This report addressed a key dispute regarding the ligature material allegedly used in the incident, including a gymnastics belt with a metal ring.
The first postmortem was inconclusive on whether the gymnastics belt matched the injuries on Sharma's neck, as the material was not presented. This led to a High Court-ordered second postmortem by an AIIMS Delhi medical board. Laboratory examinations reportedly confirmed skin tissue on the ligature, matching the injury pattern. The board's full findings remain confidential.
