In Ghaziabad, two individuals were apprehended on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in connection with the gruesome murder of their friend, Naveen alias Nandu, for alleged occult rituals. The victim's body was discovered burned inside a battery-operated auto-rickshaw, a crime that has shocked the local community.

The arrested men, identified as Pawan and Sagar, confessed to police that they took Naveen to Delhi to meet a tantrik who convinced them that human sacrifice could lead to wealth and divine blessings. Influenced by this, the trio conspired to kill Naveen after consuming alcohol on the night of January 13.
